Desktop and flatbed UV printers for direct-to-object printing

With a flatbed UV printer, the product is positioned on a flat printing bed and the design is printed directly onto its surface. This eliminates the need for a separate transfer process and makes it possible to personalise a wide variety of objects directly.

Typical materials and products include wood, acrylic, glass, metal, ceramics, plastics, nameplates, displays, awards, phone cases, packaging and promotional products. Depending on the material, a primer or other surface treatment may be required to achieve optimum adhesion and durability.

Which UV printer is right for your application?

The xTool O1 Omni range is available in three different configurations. The best choice mainly depends on the materials and products you want to print.

The xTool O1 Omni Single UV uses one UV printhead and focuses on direct UV printing on rigid materials such as wood, acrylic, glass, metal and ceramics. It is the logical choice when personalising rigid products is your main application.

The xTool O1 Omni Dual UV features two UV printheads. In addition to rigid materials, this edition can process flexible materials such as leather and canvas. Its second printhead also supports flexible white and fluorescent red and yellow inks, making Dual UV suitable for advanced UV effects and a wider range of materials.

The xTool O1 Omni UV&DTG – also referred to by xTool as UV + DT – combines a UV printhead with a dedicated textile printhead. This allows you to UV print hard products while also printing garments and suitable textiles using DTG or DTF. It is the best choice when you want to combine product personalisation and textile printing within one platform.

UV DTF for transfers and complex products

In addition to direct printing, xTool O1 Omni also supports UV DTF. With this process, the design is first printed using UV ink onto specialised transfer film. After lamination, the design can be transferred onto the final product.

UV DTF is particularly useful for objects that are difficult to print directly because of their shape. This includes curved, irregular or otherwise difficult-to-position products where applying a transfer is more practical than placing the object inside the printer.

This makes it possible to produce full-colour decals and transfers without placing the final product in the printer itself. UV DTF therefore complements direct-to-object UV printing particularly well.

For larger or recurring UV DTF production, the workflow can be expanded with roll-feeding and laminating accessories.

Full colour, white, varnish and special effects

UV printing offers more possibilities than standard CMYK colour printing. White ink makes it possible to print on dark or transparent materials, while varnish can be used for gloss, texture and other special effects.

Depending on the edition, xTool O1 Omni supports effects including texture, embossing, lenticular printing and foil applications. The Dual UV edition additionally supports fluorescent colours and flexible white ink.
