xTool xTool X1 30W Fiber Galvo Source – Laser Upgrade for Metal Engraving and Marking

xTool X1 30W Fiber Galvo Source – Professional Metal Engraving with Your xTool X1
Upgrade your xTool X1 with the 30W Fiber Galvo Source for permanent metal marking and engraving. Create detailed logos, serial numbers, QR codes, technical identification and three-dimensional relief engravings on compatible metal surfaces.
The 30W fiber laser is particularly suitable for engraving companies, product developers and technical workshops looking to expand their existing xTool X1 with specialized metal processing capabilities.
Important: To use the xTool X1 30W Fiber Galvo Source, the 20W Diode Galvo Module must already be installed in your xTool X1. This module is required for Laser Swap and is not included with the 30W Fiber Galvo Source.
If you own an X1 Single CO2 without the diode galvo module, you must purchase and install that module separately before using the fiber laser.
What Can You Do with the 30W Fiber Laser?
The 30W Fiber Galvo Source is designed for directly marking and engraving many compatible metals.
Unlike a standard blue diode laser, a fiber laser can create permanent marks directly on many metal surfaces without requiring a special coating.
Typical applications include:
Logos and text on stainless steel and aluminum
Serial numbers and product identification
QR codes and data matrix codes
Metal nameplates and rating plates
Tools and technical components
Personalized metal promotional products
Deeper engravings and decorative relief structures
Actual marking color, contrast and engraving depth depend on material composition, surface finish and processing settings.
Permanent, High-Contrast Metal Marking
One of the main applications of the xTool X1 30W Fiber Galvo Source is creating permanent markings on metal products.
Examples include serial numbers on technical components, company logos on stainless steel, identification codes on tools and product information on aluminum nameplates.
The fiber laser supports very fine details, making smaller text and identification codes possible.
With compatible materials and suitable settings, dark, high-contrast markings can be achieved. Actual marking color and contrast vary between materials.
For repeatable production results, testing the actual material is recommended.
3D Metal Relief and Deep Engraving
In addition to surface marking, the 30W fiber laser supports deeper engraving and three-dimensional relief structures.
By removing material in a controlled way, recessed text, logos and patterns can be created. Multiple passes allow structures with different depths to be produced.
Applications include:
Decorative metal components
Relief logos and nameplates
Technical parts
Tool identification
Premium promotional products
Prototypes and small production runs
According to xTool's official package information, the 30W Fiber Galvo Source includes an Exhaust Assembly for Embossing. This extraction assembly features a dust hood for dedicated relief engraving applications.
Using this accessory may reduce the available processing area or material clearance compared with standard surface engraving.
Achievable engraving depth depends on the metal, laser settings and processing time.
Required: xTool X1 20W Diode Galvo Module
The xTool X1 30W Fiber Galvo Source is an additional laser source and cannot operate independently.
The xTool X1 must have the 20W Diode Galvo Module installed before the 30W Fiber Galvo Source can be used.
The system works as follows:
The xTool X1 comes with a standard 55W CO2 laser.
The 20W Diode Galvo Module provides the galvo system required for Laser Swap.
The 30W Fiber Galvo Source connects to the rear of the X1.
The fiber laser uses the optical system of the installed diode galvo module.
Laser Swap supports one additional external laser source at a time.
Which X1 Configuration Do You Have?
| Your Current Machine | Can You Use the 30W Fiber Galvo Source Directly? |
|---|---|
| X1 Single CO2 | No, install the 20W Diode Galvo Module first |
| X1 CO2 + Diode Galvo | Yes |
| X1 UV configuration | Yes, after swapping and calibrating the external laser source |
| X1 MOPA configuration | Yes, after swapping and calibrating the external laser source |
| X1 Fiber configuration | The 30W fiber laser is already included |
The 20W Diode Galvo Module is available separately from FilRight.
Before ordering, check which X1 configuration you own. If you are unsure, we can help you choose the correct combination.
Laser Swap – Switch Between Different Laser Technologies
The xTool X1 is designed as a modular laser system.
With the 20W Diode Galvo Module installed, you can use different external laser sources:
30W Fiber: permanent metal marking and relief engraving
5W UV: ultra-fine engraving and internal engraving in compatible crystal
60W MOPA: specialized metal processing, deep engraving and advanced color marking
Additional laser sources connect to the rear of the machine through Laser Swap.
This allows you to select the most suitable laser technology for your material and desired application.
Only one additional external laser source can be connected at a time.
30W Fiber vs. 60W MOPA: What's the Difference?
The xTool X1 supports both the 30W Fiber Galvo Source and the 60W MOPA Galvo Source.
Both can be used for metal marking and engraving, but their strengths differ.
| Feature | 30W Fiber | 60W MOPA |
|---|---|---|
| Permanent metal marking | Yes | Yes |
| Serial numbers, logos and QR codes | Excellent | Excellent |
| High-contrast markings | Yes | Yes |
| Deep engraving and relief | Yes | Yes |
| Color marking | Possible on certain materials, less flexible | More advanced capabilities |
| Pulse duration control | More limited | Extended control |
| Main application | Metal marking and relief | Advanced metal engraving and color marking |
If your primary focus is permanent identification, logos and technical markings on metal, the 30W fiber laser is an excellent choice.
For advanced color marking and more extensive control over laser parameters, the 60W MOPA may be more suitable.
What's Included in the Package?
According to xTool's official user guide, the 30W Fiber Galvo Source package includes:

Installation and Calibration
The 30W Fiber Galvo Source attaches to the rear of the xTool X1.
The 20W Diode Galvo Module must already be installed before adding the fiber source.
Installation involves mounting the external laser source, connecting the power and communication cables and fitting the required optical components.
During initial use, xTool Studio guides you through optical path calibration.
For a separately purchased Galvo Source, xTool instructs users to use the five larger calibration sheets supplied with the source rather than the smaller sheets included with the X1 base machine.
Always follow the official xTool installation and safety instructions. Correct installation and calibration are essential for accurate and safe laser processing.
